Mary Jean Massie is a photographer, artist, and musician born in Huntington, West Virginia and based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her photography documents narratives through people and places, capturing the emotions and memories of a moment in time. A background and degree as a painter informs the use of color in her photographic work. A background in theater and film production imparts the importance of telling a story. She captures the lives of individuals and places in the southeastern United States. When she's not taking photographs, you can find her playing music, painting, or on her yoga mat.
